As northern Nevada’s premier nonprofit ice arena, Reno Ice offers high-quality, year-round programs for skaters of all ages and abilities—fostering safety, skilled coaching, and a welcoming community on and off the ice. Our mission is to cultivate a love of ice sports here in the high desert and ensure they are accessible to all!

Nearly a decade in the making, Reno Ice is the culmination of a shared passion over ice sports and a commitment to bringing all-year ice skating to the community. The Greater Reno Community Ice Skating Association (GRCISA), our 501(c)(3) parent organization, was founded with the sole purpose of creating and maintaining a high-quality ice rink that would serve families in the region for generations to come. After years of planning, networking, and fundraising, GRCISA opened the doors of Reno Ice: The Jennifer O’Neal Community Ice Arena in January of 2021, welcoming the community to the first year-round, indoor NHL regulation-sized rink in northern Nevada.
Our state-of-the-art facility offers a full range of programs: youth/adult hockey, figure skating, sled hockey, homeschool skating programs, private lessons, and more. More than just an ice sheet, our community space also hosts a pro shop, skate sharpening/repair services, birthday parties, corporate events, and concessions in our lobby. Thanks to the generosity of the Redfield Foundation, Reno Ice also offers a scholarship program to ensure no child is denied the opportunity to play ice sports based on their ability to pay.
Since opening, Reno Ice has become more than an ice rink but a cherished community hub that brings together people of all backgrounds and experience levels. The continued success of Reno Ice is made possible by the dedication of our Board of Directors, our staff, our sponsors, and our community—all united in our mission to have fun, build skills, foster healthy competition, and create lasting, meaningful connections on and off the ice. With an ever-growing interest in our programs, we’re excited to continue expanding opportunities in the years ahead. We hope to see you on the ice soon!
