Tim Tookey
Facilities Director

  • Tim oversees all the ice, building, and Zamboni maintenance at Reno Ice. He also drives the Zamboni and coaches for Reno Ice 12UA, the Reno Ice Raiders, and Reno Veteran Hockey.

    • Level 5 USA Hockey Certified

    • Previously served as the Facility Manager at Twin Ponds

    • Red Seal Certified Sprinkler Fitter

    • Former NHL player & AHL Hall of Famer

Jackson Baughman
Hockey Director

  • Jackson’s the head of all hockey programs at Reno Ice and the coach for youth teams/RHA.

    • USA Hockey Coaching clinic instructor

    • Former member of the Eugene Generals Junior hockey team

Joanie Malarchuk
Skating Director

  • Joanie has been with Reno Ice for five years and spearheads our figure skating program.

    • 42 years of coaching experience, specializing in figure jumps, skills, edges, and power skating/edge control for hockey players

    • USFS Master Rated Freestyle Coach

    • USFS Safesport and Core certified

Jamie Tebbe
Goalie Coordinator

  • Jamie leads goalie development for athletes of all ages/skill levels at Reno Ice. He is the coach of Reno Ice 12UA, the Reno Ice Raiders, and Reno Veteran Hockey program. 

    • Level 1 USA Hockey certified 

    • Seven years of coaching experience, including five years at Reno Ice and two years with the Grizzlies prior

    • Former Senior A hockey player with the Olds Elks

Trista Tookey
Community Relations Manager

  • Trista manages all community outreach, partnerships, scholarships, and fundraising initiatives at Reno Ice. She also oversees donor relations, grant writing, and event planning.

    • Level 4 USA Hockey Certified

    • Coach of Reno Ice 12UA, Reno Veteran Hockey program, and Reno Ice Girls Hockey program

Mallory Precord
Operations Manager

  • As the Operations Manager and Adult League Coordinator at Reno Ice, Mallory oversees league development, event organization, and the day-to-day operations that keep programs running smoothly.

    • Grew up playing/coaching hockey all over Michigan and California

    • Coached numerous age groups of hockey from mites to adults

    • Still actively traveling for a women's national bound team

    • Travels as representative for a major hockey company when not at Reno Ice

Joel Grace — President

Chief Executive Officer, Locus Development Group, LLC

Joel is the Chief Executive Officer at Locus Development Group, LLC, with a background in commercial real estate, finance, and business development. He previously worked with Umpqua Bank and the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada. (EDAWN) Born and raised in New England, Joel graduated from New Hampshire College and holds an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. Since moving to Northern Nevada in 2002, Joel has been deeply involved in the community through volunteer work with organizations such as the YMCA of the Sierra, the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation, the Junior Achievement Association, NAIOP, and BANN. Joel also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Reno Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA). Joel is also an avid hockey player and coach at Reno Ice. Joel and his wife, Amy, are proud parents of four children.

Cameron Sorenson – Vice President/Acting GM

Cam grew up in Canada playing in organized hockey programs across North America. Cam brings more than 25 years of leadership and business development experience (most of which right here in northern Nevada), working with such world-class companies as Starbucks, Intuit, and Best Buy. He has volunteered with the Sierra Inline Hockey League and the Society of Human Resource Managers. Cam has extensive experience coaching youth programs, with 10 years at the American Youth Soccer Organization and 15 years in youth hockey.

Christopher Ryan O’Neal — Treasurer

Chris is the CEO of JOCHCO Investments, LLC, which owns and operates several local businesses, including The Joint Chiropractic, Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que, SurgCenter Development, Sierra Nevada Bioscience, and Modern Acupuncture. Chris received his BA in Philosophy from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2003, and in 2010, he moved to northern Nevada to be near family. Chris is married to his college sweetheart Shannon, and they have two beautiful children—daughter Talley and son Maverick.

Dan Rowan — Board Member

Originally from Western Canada, Dr. Daniel Rowan came to the U.S. on a hockey scholarship at Norwich University in Vermont. He earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in biology and sports medicine before completing his Doctor of Optometry (OD) in 2001 from the New York College of Optometry in Manhattan, New York. After moving to Nevada, he founded EyeZone and created a multi-location practice, which he now owns through Mayberry Vision. Dr. Rowan has previously served on the Board of Directors at Somersett Country Club and founded Doctors Supporting Troops for the PGA tour stop in Reno. Additionally, he created the Military Hero of the Game and Charity Stripe Celebrity Shooter for Nevada Wolfpack football and basketball games. In addition to his optometric practice, Dr. Rowan is the owner of two Doughboys locations (Northwest Reno and Sparks) and was the previous owner of Z-Pizza in Caughlin Ranch. Outside the clinic, he is an avid golfer, camper, and fisherman, and has coached local youth baseball and hockey teams. He enjoys watching sports and is a dedicated fan of various sports, including supporting the local Wolf Pack and his beloved Edmonton Oilers. Together with his wife Amy and their three children, Dr. Rowan has called Reno home for two decades.

The Dogs of Reno Ice 🐾

Dogs and ice sports go together like peanut butter and jelly! At Reno Ice, we’re happy to welcome well-behaved pups (on a leash, please). Above are a few of the regular doggos at our ice rink, and they are very good boys and girls.
