Rules for Public Sessions
In order to ensure a fun, safe environment for our community, we ask that all public skate attendees follow the guidelines listed here and in the announcements before public sessions.
You are skating at your own risk. Reno Ice is not liable for injuries, damage to equipment, or loss of personal possessions.
You must wear the wristband given to you at the front desk or have it on your person while skating. It contains the waiver that is required for you to step on the ice.
No shoes on the ice.
All skaters are expected to be respectful of the personal space of others. Please be kind to fellow skaters.
Please, no carrying children on the ice.
Roughhousing, horseplay, and dangerous maneuvers (like weaving in between people at high speeds) are not permitted.
Skate aids are not to be ridden, used backwards, or anything other than helping a skater stay upright on the ice. Ramming them into each other, riding them, or any other improper use of the skate aids may result in the skate monitor taking the skate aid away.
No digging holes in the ice. This causes major problems for our ice maintenance!
No making “snowballs” or playing with snow that accumulates on the ice.
No jumping over the boards during public sessions.
No more than two skaters can hold hands while skating. While fun, three or more people holding hands on the ice in one “human chain” can cause injury to yourself or others.
Failure to follow rink rules may result in a “time out.” If behavior continues, a skate monitor will ask you to leave the ice.

While we do our best to ensure safety for all guests, injuries can still occur. For minor injuries (scrapes, bruising, etc.), our Skate Monitors/front desk staff can provide aid in the form of ice packs, band-aids, or other basic first kit items. For more serious injuries, we will call emergency medical personnel or direct you to seek professional medical treatment. Please note that Reno Ice is not liable for physical injury as a result of ice skating.
-
Yes, our trained skate monitors are present during all public skate sessions. Feel free to ask them for assistance with skate aids, injuries, or any questions you may have. Please note that skate monitors are not present for our Adult-Only Skate sessions.
Please note: while our skate monitors are happy to help out kids on the ice, they are not able to supervise children at all times and are not a replacement for a parent or guardian. -
